Maintenance
Allett mowers are maintained on an annual service cycle, carried out by Allett Canada or an authorised service provider. The annual service is a full professional inspection, adjustment, and cylinder and bottom-blade regrind.
What the annual service covers
Inspect and adjust the drive belts, belt guides, and tensioners; replace the rear-roller and cylinder drive belts; check rollers, bearings, and cables; clean the drive-belt area; check the cartridge and guide rails; check the cylinder bearings; complete a cylinder regrind and a bottom-blade (bedknife) regrind; set the cylinder on cut; set the height of cut; and check the controls, switches, and — where fitted — the battery and charger.
Model-specific additions
Petrol models such as the Kensington also receive engine service — draining and refilling the engine oil, replacing the spark plug and air filter, setting the engine idle RPM, and checking the pull-start. Large-format models such as the Stirling 43 / 51 include chassis levelling and chassis checks.
